Volunteer Opportunities
Different fun activities and adventures await those who volunteer! Each activity is an opportunity to learn new things and meet new people. The Animal Encounter is for you to explore and interact in so many ways with nature and people.
Animal Encounter volunteers can be found
- Assisting in the lectures or presentation when providing educational programs
- Joining for the gardening season, or any other maintenance missions (painting, or improvement measures at the center)
- Greeting and guiding visitors for the awareness mission of the center
- Helping with the special events activities (Halloween, Easter egg hunt, day camps…).
Volunteers range in age from teens to grandparents
Volunteer Opportunities
Education: Assist in lectures or outside field visits, by handling live animals to the instructor, and help in leading the outside activities groups. Trained volunteer will be able to instruct independently some school groups.
Visitor services: Interact and guide visitors of the center to explain about animals and their importance in nature, as well as answering their inquiries about the inhabitant of the center. The weekends have the popular and special events. Volunteers may supervise games, handle registration, or assist with set up.
General services: Gardening: watering, weeding, and some pruning.
Maintenance procedures: some trail maintenance, spot cleanings, trail repairs, paintings, or major projects (on-call).
Other: Help with any of the following: design, photography, hard-scape design, carpentry, or any new special interest or skill to offer.
